After sailing for almost 20 years, including a six year circumnavigation, we settled down here in Langkawi in 2005. We have sailed many an ocean and have visited highly rated and popular islands such as Bora Bora and Tahiti, but they are not even close to having the charm and attraction of the Langkawi archipelago. Langkawi enchanted us from the minute we arrived and although we are out on the ocean almost every day, its abundant beauty still delights us.
                         
Langkawi’s beauty is definitely best seen from the water, not on the road! You need to go out on a boat to discover this archipelago and the numerous untouched isles of the Andaman Sea. Langkawi is still 80% natural vegetation! The steep sloped limestone islands are not suited to human habitation, thus only 4 of the 99 islands populated. Out of 5500 plant and tree species in Malaysia, 3500 here grow without soil, but on pure rock. It is amazing to see trees that are more than 2000 years old with their ancient their roots entwined in these rocks!

On our cruises you will see more than 20 islands where eagles, hornbills, monitor lizards and monkeys are living an undisturbed life. About Damai Indah

I bought the DAMAI INDAH only recently in December 2008, and she is my personal pride and love affair. Built mainly of teak wood she is as comfortable as she is beautiful. Newly renovated, she welcomes you and your companions aboard for a delightful time of lounging and relaxing. Translated from Indonesian, DAMAI INDAH means “Peace and Beauty”.

On the deck
The ship started life as a cargo vessel in the southern islands of Sulawesi in 1987. She was later refurbished over the years to be a day charter boat in Bali, undertaking her first charters there in 2000. After a thorough refit in 2006 DAMAI INDAH sailed to Thailand and the on to Langkawi where I found and bought her. Just recently in November 2009 I took her to Thailand for another refit – she is getting more beautiful every single day!

Bulleye
With a length of almost 17 meters plus a 6 meter long bowsprit, and broad a beam of a just over 5 meters at her widest point, she offers ample space both on and below deck. Guests are fascinated not only by her spaciousness but even more so by her romantic charm. The teak wood is newly varnished and all cushions and furnishings are of excellent quality.

Below Deck
She has a small but newly renovated bathroom, a shower, fully equipped galley, two small cabins and a large comfortable sitting/sleeping area with a cozy atmosphere and a romantic touch. The perfect vessel for those guests that love the charm of stylish wooden boats – the only type that truly have a soul!
